Job summary

The Florida Department of Health is seeking an auditor to process and audit contract payments within the FLAIR system. The role involves handling MOAs, MOUs, grants and interagency payments, and ensuring proper voucher creation and reconciliation of expenditures.

You will interact with vendors and program offices to resolve discrepancies, provide training to contract staff, and assist with year-end processing. A strong knowledge of accounting principles and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of office procedures and practices; methods of data collection; principles of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation; as well as accounting principles, practices and procedures.
• Skill in using computer software skills, including beginner skills in database/ spreadsheet software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Word; communicating program information at appropriate levels to different audiences.
• Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program, utilize problem solving techniques, work independently, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to research and find errors in reconciliation of expenditures and cash reports.

Responsibilities

• Process and audit contract payments ensuring that all payment requirements are compiled and then processed within FLAIR.
• Audit MOA, Memorandum of Understanding, grants and interagency payments; manage various accounting transactions to create voucher documents.
• Provide technical training and support to contract managers and contract administration staff; participate in staff training when necessary.
• Assist in year-end processing including the certified forward process and the creation of payables.
