Job summary

The Encompass Group, headquartered in Houston, is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to strengthen core accounting processes and guide a growing department. You will own the month-end close, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and mentor staff in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Based in our Houston hub, you will work with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, transition billing staff into FP&A, and drive process improvements while leveraging Workday for daily accounting

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and balance sheet management.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute a heavy month-end close process including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain technical accounting foundation and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior staff and support staff development.
• Assist in restructuring team workflows and FP&A transition efforts.
• Leverage Workday for daily accounting operations and reporting.
• Support annual audits and variance analyses.
