Job summary

LJA is seeking an Accounting Manager in its Accounting department in Houston to coordinate month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

In this role you will supervise accounting staff, collaborate with other departments, support annual audits, and ensure GAAP compliance while driving process improvements and staff development across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist in month-end closing activities, journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and analysis.
• Analyze financial reports and records.
• Assign tasks to accounting staff and review as appropriate.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for intercompany accounting.
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit.
• Recommend improvements to procedures and asset/reserve accounting.
• Manage the fixed asset system.
• Collaborate with facilities and real estate teams on lease calculations.
• Develop staff through performance management and training.
• Apply GAAP in all transactions and policies.
