Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant in NW Houston to join a fast-paced energy services environment. The role focuses on GAAP reporting, month-end close, variance analysis, and technical accounting to support budgeting and forecasting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, CPA, and 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in energy. On-site duties include preparing financial statements, audits coordination, and delivering clear management reports.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• CPA certification is required or strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; energy industry experience is a plus.
• Must have proficiency in variance analysis, month-end close, financial reporting, and technical accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Assist with budgets and forecasts, analyze variances between actuals and forecasts.
• Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting trends and variances.
• Ensure internal controls compliance and support audit processes.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to other departments.
• Stay updated on industry trends and accounting regulations.
• Participate in special projects and process improvements as needed.
