Job summary

Intuit is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the Money Movement team in Oakland. You will support the monthly loss reserves process and own core close and reconciliations, while collaborating across product, finance, and operations to ensure GAAP compliance.

The role requires strong data skills, including SQL reading and the use of AI tools to accelerate analyses, plus excellent communication to explain data-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience including GL close and bank/cash reconciliations.
• Proficient with SQL queries to pull/validate data and with AI tools for analysis and documentation.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, accrual concepts, and revenue/payments accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist a senior accountant with monthly loss reserves data: pull, validate, and summarize trends.
• Perform monthly GL close entries and reconciliations in line with GAAP.
• Reconcile bank and cash across Payments, Bill Pay, Payroll, and Banking offerings.
• Support ad hoc projects to build and scale the Money Movement engine and translate requirements into accounting treatment.
• Read SQL queries to pull and validate data, and troubleshoot issues.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate reconciliations, variance analysis, and documentation.
• Maintain documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and reserve balances for audits.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
• Provide cross-training and coverage across Controllership during peak periods.
