Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with GL close and bank/cash reconciliations.
• Proficient with SQL and AI tools for analysis and documentation.
• Good GAAP knowledge and revenue/payments accounting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to explain data-driven findings.

Responsibilities

• Assist a senior accountant in supporting the monthly loss reserves process for Payments and summarize trends.
• Perform monthly GL close activities and reconciliations in line with GAAP.
• Reconcile bank and cash across Payments, Bill Pay, Payroll, and Banking offerings; resolve variances.
• Support ad hoc projects to scale Money Movement; translate requirements into accounting treatment.
• Read SQL queries to pull, validate, and troubleshoot data independently.
• Use AI tools to accelerate reconciliations, variance analysis, and documentation.
• Prepare documentation to support journal entries and reserve balances for audits.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
• Provide cross-training and coverage across Controllership areas during peak periods.
• Adhere to close-calendar SLAs and maintain internal controls.
