Job summary

Modern Process Equipment, a Chicago-based engineering and manufacturing firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cost accounting in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead the accounting team, coordinate month-end close with the Accounting Manager, ensure accurate revenue recognition, and maintain internal controls while supporting manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience (AP, GL, month-end close).
• Experience with bank reconciliation and journal entries.
• Cost accounting including standard costs and variance analysis.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; comfortable with AI tools.
• Experience with AP automation platforms (Medius or similar).

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, banking, and vendor payments.
• Manage month-end close, cost accounting, and inventory valuation.
• Oversee accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and collections.
• Direct daily workflow of accounting team and prepare reports.
