Smith+Naphew is hiring a Senior Accountant to support our Maple Plain manufacturing facility. The role owns key accounting processes, drives financial accuracy, and partners with leaders to improve operations.

You will lead monthly closes, manage inventory and variances, and ensure IFRS compliance while collaborating on budgets, cost accounting, and annual reporting. Hybrid work is available for many professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of General Accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accruals, prepaids, depreciation, gross vs net profit.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Experience with inventory accounting in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and QuickBooks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close with journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain the ledger ensuring accurate, timely transactions with proper approvals.
• Handle daily accounting tasks in QuickBooks including purchasing and AP.
• Analyze manufacturing variances and prepare monthly reports.
• Collaborate on forecasts, budgets, cost accounting, and special projects.
• Ensure IFRS compliance across prepaids, accruals, leases, and intangibles.
• Support inventory management and cycle-count audits.
• Assist internal and external audits and uphold internal controls.
• Support ERP cost updates, labor rates, and overhead rates.
• Coordinate with Tax and Compliance teams for annual reporting.
