Lincoln Search Consultants, Inc. is partnering with a Fortune 1000 manufacturing organization in Northbrook, IL to hire a Senior Accountant.

This role focuses beyond traditional GL duties, offering exposure to cost accounting, inventory, manufacturing variance analysis, and KPI development. You will contribute to monthly closes, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls within a large, established operation.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting requirements.

• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and controls.

The Opportunity

Lincoln Search Consultants is partnering with a well-established Fortune 1000 manufacturing organization seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance and accounting team in Northbrook, IL.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working beyond traditional general ledger responsibilities and wants meaningful exposure to manufacturing operations, cost accounting, financial analysis, and plant-level performance.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general accounting, with manufacturing experience and exposure to cost accounting and inventory highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the monthly financial close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet variances, manufacturing costs, and operating results.
• Support product costing, cost allocations, and monthly plant cost variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) reporting to support operational and financial decision-making.
• Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to improve reporting accuracy, visibility, and efficiency.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including asset componentization, retirements, and related transactions.
• Assist with annual budgeting, internal and external audits, and other financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field required.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational leadership.
• Base Salary: Up to $105,000, plus bonus opportunity.
• Location: Northbrook, IL.
• Hybrid Schedule: Four days onsite (Monday–Thursday), with Fridays working remotely.
