Job summary

Lincoln Search Consultants, Inc. is partnering with a Fortune 1000 manufacturing organization in Northbrook, IL to hire a Senior Accountant.

This role focuses beyond traditional GL duties, offering exposure to cost accounting, inventory, manufacturing variance analysis, and KPI development. You will contribute to monthly closes, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls within a large, established operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet variances, manufacturing costs, and operating results.
• Support product costing, cost allocations, and monthly plant cost variance analysis.
• Develop KPI reporting to support operational and financial decisions.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operations to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including componentization and retirements.
• Assist with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain SOX controls and ensure compliance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and controls.
