Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners, headquarted in Stamford, CT, seeks a Senior Accountant to own key areas of the monthly close. You will ensure accurate lease and prepaid expense accounting, strengthen the accounting infrastructure, and support growth initiatives across MSO and operating entities.

You will drive reconciliations, document controls, coordinate with FP&A and auditors, and contribute to scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with a focus on accuracy and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close.
• Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and the ability to apply accounting guidance.
• Ability to analyze account activity and drive follow-up to resolution.
• Excellent workpaper discipline with clear documentation.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment with tight deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables, lookups, data validation, reconciliations.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own components of the monthly close for multiple entities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate changes and trends.
• Manage ASC 842 lease accounting for operating and finance leases using LeaseQuery.
• Oversee the prepaid expense process with amortization schedules and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and supporting workpapers with evidence.
• Support standardization of close processes across MSO and entities.
• Document processes, risks, controls, and evidence of performance.
• Coordinate with FP&A, operations, payroll, tax, auditors and stakeholders.
• Assist with acquisitions integration into systems, close processes, policies and controls.
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings; research filing requirements.
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects balancing recurring duties.
