Job summary

Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant - General Accounting to own monthly close activities, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules under IFRS and statutory requirements.

You will investigate complex reconciling items, support audits, strengthen internal controls, and partner with business owners and service providers while driving process improvements with Alteryx and Power BI.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with journal entries and reconciliations.
• CPA required and IFRS/statutory accounting knowledge.
• Experience with cash accounting, bank reconciliations, and period-end close preferred.
• Experience with lease, pension, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany, or financial reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations, cash activity validation, and suspense clearing.
• Monitor payroll suspense, coordinate resolution with Treasury and Payroll.
• Prepare lease and sublease accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare pension expense entries, rollforwards, and actuarial review support.
• Support fixed assets, depreciation, intercompany items, and other reporting requirements.
• Deliver ECON, statutory, tax, and other reporting deliverables with traceability to accounting records.
• Maintain internal controls and identify process improvements using analytics and technology.
