Job summary

Allianz Commercial in Chicago seeks a Senior Accountant II for a hybrid role. You will contribute to monthly closes, intercompany reconciliations, and global reporting while partnering with auditors and business units.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years in reinsurance/insurance accounting, deep GAAP/IFRS knowledge, advanced Excel, and strong communication skills in a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance and/or asset management.
• 5-7 years experience with GAAP & IFRS for insurance and reinsurance.
• 3-5 years experience in project and team work in an international environment.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas.
• Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements.
• Draft standards to improve quality and support global processes and policies.
• Ensure IFRS, GAAP and statutory closing and reporting tasks are accurate and timely globally.
• Complete postings, journal entries and reconciliations; reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate data transfer from interfaces of front-end systems.
• Manage monthly close submissions, accruals and related accounting entries.
• Manage relationships with auditors, business units, tax authorities and other stakeholders.
• Assist internal clients with reports and research.
• Identify problems and propose improvements to enhance performance.
