Job summary

Munich Re hires a Senior Accountant to execute and coordinate general accounting activities under IFRS and statutory requirements. The role covers journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close with cross-functional collaboration across Treasury, Payroll, and Business Partners.

Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, lease and pension accounting, and supporting audits and disclosures. Strong Excel, ERP and analytics skills (Alteryx/Power BI) are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience including journal entries and reconciliations.
• CPA is required and IFRS/Insurance Statutory knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, SAP, BlackLine or similar ERP and reconciliation tools.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Coordinate bank reconciliations and cash activity investigations.
• Monitor payroll suspense and coordinate resolutions with Treasury and Payroll.
• Prepare lease, pension, and fixed asset related entries and reconciliations.
• Support audit requests and statutory reporting; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify process improvements using data analytics and technology tools.
