Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant - General Accounting to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting under IFRS and statutory accounting.

The role partners with business owners and service providers, supports audits, and helps strengthen controls. You will manage bank reconciliations, cash activity, pension, lease, payroll, and fixed asset accounting, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years progressive accounting experience with close process
• CPA certification is required
• Experience with bank reconciliations and period-end close preferred
• ERP and reconciliation tools experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, prepare journal entries and reconciliations
• Perform and coordinate bank reconciliations and cash activity validations
• Monitor payroll suspense and coordinate resolution with Treasury/Payroll
• Prepare lease, pension, and fixed asset accounting entries
• Prepare quarterly pension expense entries and actuarial analysis
• Support reporting deliverables and assist with audits and statutory disclosures
• Maintain internal controls and support external audits; drive process improvements
