Job summary

M2 Search Partners, Inc. is recruiting a Senior Accountant in Jacksonville to support core accounting operations, close processes, and system improvements within a growing multi-entity group.

Reporting to the Controller, you will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, manage fixed assets and ASC 842 leases, and help drive GAAP-compliant financials across entities. This role offers hybrid work flexibility and opportunities to advance within a expanding organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a multi-entity organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Experience with a modern cloud-based ERP system.
• Strong knowledge of multi-entity accounting, consolidations, ASC 606, ASC 842.
• Fixed assets, depreciation, and CIP experience.
• Exposure to ERP implementations, acquisitions, or transaction accounting is a plus.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including complex accruals, deferrals, and other entries requiring sound accounting judgment.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, maintain supporting schedules, and investigate period-over-period account fluctuations.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation, and CIP tracking for projects, buildouts, and equipment purchases.
• Manage lease accounting under ASC 842, including lease schedules, right-of-use assets and liabilities, roll-forwards, and monthly amortization.
• Maintain accurate, well-supported, audit-ready financial records and assist with the transition or cleanup of historical accounting data.
• Support accounting and reporting across multiple legal entities, including onboarding and integration of newly added entities or acquired operations.
• Assist with financial analyses, debt covenant calculations, audit requests, and other reporting requirements as needed.
• Participate in ERP implementation, configuration, testing, and post-implementation optimization.
• Identify and help implement improvements to accounting workflows, policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
• Partner with the Controller on month-end and year-end close, special projects, and evolving accounting priorities.
