Job summary

Fitness Growth Capital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its lean finance team. This role reports to the Controller and owns core accounting areas as the company scales from 12 to 40+ locations.

You will manage entries in Sage Intacct, perform reconciliations, support multi-entity accounting, and assist with GAAP conversions and system improvements during a period of rapid growth in a private equity-backed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a dynamic, growing organization; multi-unit or multi-entity experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience navigating a modern, cloud-based ERP system, with Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with fixed assets/CIP, lease accounting (ASC 842), and revenue recognition (ASC 606) preferred.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Ability to meet financial reporting deadlines while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries in Sage Intacct with a clear understanding of the financial statement impact of each entry.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations each fiscal period on a timely basis; roll forward account balances and explain period-over-period changes.
• Own key accounting areas including fixed assets/CIP, lease accounting, and revenue and expense accruals/deferrals.
• Help maintain clean, audit-ready books and supporting schedules as the company transitions historical data into Sage Intacct.
• Support multi-entity accounting as new club LLCs are added through organic growth and acquisitions, including integration accounting for newly acquired locations.
• Assist the Controller with bank covenant compliance calculations and other analyses tied to the company's credit facility.
• Support audit readiness and external audit requests across assigned areas.
• Assist in the critical project to convert the company's cash-basis interim financials into audit-ready, GAAP accrual-basis books in Sage Intacct for the full post-close 2026 period.
• Support the upcoming Sage Intacct implementation through sandbox testing, system enhancements, and process optimization.
• Recommend and help implement modifications to accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls as the club count scales from 12 to 40+.
