Job summary

Sherpa | Recruiting, Staffing & Consulting is seeking a Senior Accountant to support monthly close, financial analysis, contract compliance, and reconciliations related to insurance premiums and fringe benefits. The role is hybrid, with two days in the Charlotte office and three remote; during the monthly close week, work is fully remote.

You will partner with Finance, Benefits, Risk, Legal, Payroll, and FP&A teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and provide accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Strong Excel and SAP skills; comfortable with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries and analysis of P&L and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze contractual data, identify trends, and prepare reporting to support business decisions.
• Complete reconciliations related to insurance, benefits, and contractual expenses.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate financial and contractual data while ensuring compliance with established policies.
• Provide financial analysis and support to sector finance teams and key stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Benefits, Risk, Legal, Payroll, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams.
• Handle confidential HR and benefits information with appropriate discretion.
• Assist with special projects and additional analysis as assigned.
