Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established organization in Oakland, CA to identify a Senior Accountant. The role offers hands-on accounting work, cross-functional collaboration, and an opportunity to improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong general ledger and month-end close skills, and advanced Excel expertise, with Oracle experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end close activities.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
• Analyze financial data and prepare supporting schedules and reports.
• Partner closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and account analysis.
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting requirements.
• Assist with audit requests and annual audit preparation.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting team members regarding workflow and process improvements.
• Work directly with senior leadership and finance stakeholders to deliver requested financial information and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
