MacKay is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the IDOT Bureau of Maintenance at our Schaumburg, IL base. The role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and auditing maintenance transactions, with some travel to district yards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in accounting (Master’s preferred) and 5+ years of accounting experience, with advanced Excel skills and comfort with ledger systems. US pay range is shown below, along with comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of general or tax accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and ledger systems.
• Experience in a team environment and strong analytical skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements to monitor contracts and spending.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations across funding lines.
• Analyze statements for discrepancies and ensure quality control.
• Review maintenance transactions and invoices as needed.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for obligations and spends.
• Coordinate semi-annual commodity audits with Financial Services.
• Maintain ledgers daily for accurate reporting.
