Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional Regional Business Office Accountant to maintain, update, and balance ledgers under general supervision. You will review, analyze, and reconcile complex financial documents to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and prepare various financial reports for payments.

Under the Upward Mobility Program, individuals may leverage internal opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in business administration and accounting OR four years of technical accounting experience.
• Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Regional Business Office Accountant.
• Makes payment on the MARS or Childcare payment systems.
• Prepares and analyzes financial reports, including monthly expenditures and projections.
• Reviews and maintains the obligation documents ledger.
• Liaises with providers, vendors, and staff regarding payment policy and processing requirements.
