Vaco is seeking a Senior Accountant in Orange County for a temp-to-hire engagement. The role focuses on full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting while driving process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and preparation for audits are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large data sets).

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain financial records and support the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
• Support audit requests and assist with year-end audit preparation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operational teams.
• Drive process improvements and help streamline accounting workflows.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
