Job summary

Clear Creek County seeks a Senior Accountant to apply broad accounting expertise across financial reporting, grant accounting, and payroll. Under the Finance Director, you’ll oversee the General Ledger, month-end close, and coordinate with auditors during annual and single audits.

You’ll support grant compliance, prepare ACFR, and ensure payroll accuracy, while guiding department staff and vendors in accounting matters.

Qualifications

• CPA license or eligible to obtain in Colorado.
• Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Associate degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience.
• Equivalent education/experience combinations.
• Graduate degree may substitute for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports reflecting County condition.
• Oversee General Ledger, journal entries, account analysis, and month-end close.
• Perform reconciliations of bank, cash, and Treasurer accounts.
• Transition revenue data from Treasurer to Finance ledger and analyze expenditures vs. budget.
• Assist in audits and prepare the ACFR per GAAP.
• Manage grant accounting from award to closeout and compliant reporting.
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll liabilities; ensure confidentiality.
