Job summary

Johnson Service Group in San Diego is seeking a Senior Accountant for an innovative technology company. This is a direct hire, onsite role with a salary range of $105K–$115K depending on qualifications.

The Senior Accountant will perform complex tasks, including month-end close, journal entries, AP/AR oversight, cost accounting, tax provisions, and financial reporting using FCC/Essbase. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of related experience; a CPA is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5+ years directly related experience, preferably in government contracting.
• Advanced Skills in Excel a must.
• Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus; CPA license is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end reconciliations and provide insightful analysis of account components.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and process daily cash receipts.
• Submit receiving reports and invoices in iRPT for customer deliveries.
• Prepare cost-plus billings with proper approvals prior to submission.
• Support internal and external audits (DCMA).
• Review AR aging and follow up with customers for collections.
• Maintain inventory reconciliations and month-end inventory reporting.
• Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger and related depreciation.
• Prepare sales/use tax analyses and monthly prepayments/quarterly returns.
• Prepare tax provisions including 1099s, property, income tax, prepaids, IRAD.
• Provide cross-department backup (Payroll, invoicing).
• Prepare financial reports in FCC/Essbase and assist in cash forecasting.
