Job summary

Kiwa America is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join the accounting team supporting multiple businesses from Houston, TX. The role reports to the Controller and combines daily accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will perform reconciliations, intercompany work, and ad hoc analysis, with a focus on process improvements and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
Perform account, bank, and intercompany reconciliations.
Owns month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepaids, and financial reporting.
Analyze account variances and prepare supporting schedules.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Document accounting processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and stronger internal controls.
Support annual internal and external audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including AP, AR, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, and Operations, to support Finance initiatives.
Provide flexible accounting support based on evolving business needs.
