Job summary

North County Transit - San Diego Railroad is seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare complex general ledger entries and reconciliations under the Controller's direction. The role supports the integrity of the District’s financial records and interacts with the Controller on accounting processes.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in GAAP, ERP experience (JD Edwards), and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; 24 accounting units.
• Minimum five years directly relevant accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze general ledger documents; research discrepancies.
• Prepare adjusting/recurring journal entries as needed.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements.
• Balance subsidiary ledgers with general ledger; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with audits by preparing schedules and reports.
• Track fixed assets and depreciation for capital projects.
• Support fare collection processes and related accounting entries.
