Job summary

Optimum Life Reinsurance in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Accountant to contribute to the accounting, reporting process and production of financial reports. You will support senior management with analyses and respond to various requests.

The role covers monthly/year-end close, budgeting, and regulatory filings, requiring 3+ years of relevant experience and CPA designation is a plus. Strong Excel and Oracle Financials proficiency are expected.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree required; 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficient with general accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Experience in full-cycle period-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review financial reporting.
• Production of monthly and year-end financial statements in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analyses and reports.
• Analyze variances between budget and actual results.
• Oversee budgeting process, analysis and financial projections.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards and controls.
• Process journal entries and prepare reconciliations for month-end close.
• Coordinate filings of financial reports for regulatory agencies and senior management.
• Prepare quarterly and annual statutory filings as required by NAIC (Blue Book).
• Assist with interim and year-end audits and tax filings.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
