Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting.
• 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards.
• Advanced computer skills, databases and reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of internal control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares financial statements and footnotes for DART employees, retirement plans and other post employment benefit (OPEB) plan.
• Prepares Agency quarterly financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statements for quarterly disclosure updates to the Board, Investors and other users.
• Manages month-end and year-end close procedures, and prepares accruals and adjusting entries.
• Reconciles accounts, compiles audit work papers, and supports footnotes and schedules for audits.
• Oversees junior staff and provides back-up support as needed.
• Tests system upgrades for General Accounting modules and coordinates with IT and staff.
