Job summary

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to perform high-complexity accounting duties, ensure GAAP/GASB compliance, and support month-end and year-end closes.

You will prepare detailed financial reports and maintain analytical data supporting asset, liability, and equity accounts. The role includes supervising junior staff, coordinating audits, and producing quarterly and annual statements for DART and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Five to seven years of progressive accounting experience including closing, financial statements, and asset accounting.
• Knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and FASB.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with databases and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and footnotes for employees, retirement plans, and OPEB.
• Apply GASB/GAAP requirements to plan and financial statements.
• Ensure audits are completed and reported to the Board and agencies on time.
• Prepare quarterly and annual statements for the Agency and subsidiary.
• Perform month-end and year-end close and analyze variances.
• Provide oversight to junior staff and manage system upgrades testing.
