Job summary

Bergmeyer, a design collaborative in Boston, seeks a Senior Accountant to own AP, GL, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting. You will work closely with the Controller and CFO, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls across transactions with vendors and project teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with experience in architecture/construction preferred. This hands-on role collaborates across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the architecture or construction industry.
• Strong accounts payable experience is required.
• Experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantage Point is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own accounts payable process including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payments.
• Maintain AP aging and payment schedules; monitor obligations and terms.
• Review AP for duplicates, unusual transactions, and errors.
• Maintain electronic records supporting invoices and payments.
• Review new vendor requests and changes to vendor information.
