Jobot in Millersville, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a fast-growing finance team. You will own key month-end close activities, support GAAP reporting, and collaborate with leadership to strengthen accounting processes as the organization scales.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and hands-on experience with multiple accounting systems. This is an on-site, permanent role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Proficiency with Excel and multiple accounting systems.
• Public accounting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in financial statement preparation, GAAP compliance, and reporting.
• Conduct variance analysis and explain fluctuations.
• Support project revenue recognition and cost tracking.
• Assist with audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Controller to streamline processes and strengthen controls.
• Navigate multiple accounting systems and data extraction.
• Contribute to accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial insights.
