Codexis Inc in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting. You will oversee payroll operations for U.S.

and international segments, ensuring compliance with payroll and tax regulations and delivering timely processing. This role partners with HR and Finance to strengthen internal controls, support audits, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in General Accounting and Payroll operations.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with accuracy.
• Expert knowledge of payroll processes and compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and Outlook; familiarity with VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Experience with Paylocity and Time & Labor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet analysis.
• Manage payroll, benefits, AP and expenses, ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for management reporting.
• Assist with audit schedules and SOX/compliance activities.
• Participate in process improvement and internal control enhancements.
