Etched in San Jose, CA is hiring a General Ledger Accountant, Payroll to own the payroll and benefits close process, ensure accurate compensation accounting, and partner with People Ops and Finance. This hands-on role requires meticulous attention to detail in a fast-scaling hardware company with cross-entity payrolls.

You will manage accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance, while designing scalable workflows and maintaining strong internal controls for payroll across multiple

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of general accounting work with payroll/benefits close
• Experience with ERP systems and scaling in high-growth environments
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong cross-departmental communication

Responsibilities

• Own payroll and benefits accounting close process with accruals and controls
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger
• Prepare payroll journal entries including accruals
• Reconcile benefits portal data with payroll deductions
• Review carrier invoices for employer and employee contributions
• Investigate discrepancies between HRIS, payroll, benefits, and ERP
• Maintain payroll and benefits documentation for audits
