Job summary

Staffmark Group in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead portions of the monthly and year-end close, post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 3–6+ years in accounting, ERP experience (CMiC preferred), and strong Excel skills. CPA preferred; construction/job-cost exposure a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA or advanced accounting credentials preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned portions of the monthly and year-end financial close process
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure financial records are fully supported
• Review financial statements, analyze variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and revenue recognition
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
• Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
• Research accounting issues, recommend solutions, and ensure timely resolution
