Job summary

Staffmark Group in Mangham, LA is seeking an Accountant to join our team and maintain accurate financial records. This direct-hire role focuses on general ledger activities, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial standards.

You will handle accounts payable/receivable, job costing, budgeting support, payroll accuracy, and month-end close, contributing to reliable financial statements and informed business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Professional accounting certifications or continuing education beneficial.
• Three+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, contracting, or project-based industries.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Track and analyze job costs, project expenses, and profitability.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Process payroll and ensure payroll tax compliance.
• Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory reports.
• Monitor project billing, progress billing, and collections.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed.
• Maintain accounting records per company policy and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and leadership on financial performance and cost controls.
