Orphanides & Co is seeking a detail-driven Senior Accountant to join our Whitestone, NY team. This role offers ownership of key financial functions within a respected firm that values accuracy and professional growth.

You will manage monthly close, prepare financial statements, and oversee AR/AP, tax preparation, and internal controls in a fast-paced environment. CPA preferred and QuickBooks/NetSuite experience are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in a professional setting.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and general ledger entries.
• Manage bookkeeping and accounting assignments for multiple clients.
• Complete month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank/credit card reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with tax preparation, sales tax, compliance, and filing for clients or internal operations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients, research tax questions, and assist with tax notices.
• Manage deadlines and bring significant issues to firm leadership.
