Job summary

United Utility Services, a leader in the electric utility industry, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting operations, prepare financial statements, and support audits and tax filings. The role collaborates with multiple departments to ensure accurate and compliant financial processes.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in accounting, 2+ years in a senior role, and strong GAAP knowledge. Proficiency with Sage 300, Power BI, and advanced Excel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA considered a plus.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 in a senior accountant role.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with Sage 300 and Power BI is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Execute month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts; manage AP/AR as needed.
• Assist with tax filings and audits; support process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial operations with goals.
