Maplewood Senior Living, a leading operator of premier senior living communities, seeks a Staff/Senior Accountant to maintain financial reporting integrity and support strategic decision-making. You will partner with the Corporate Controller to shape Maplewood's accounting and reporting functions across multiple communities.

The role emphasizes month-end close, GL oversight, tax compliance, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; master's preferred but not required.
Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi or similar ERP, FloQast) and spreadsheet tools.
Data automation and analysis tools recommended (Vena, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Python).
Strong knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with tax regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication; leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance.
Conduct variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Oversee general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, month-/year-end close.
Assist AP/AR for invoices, payments, and collections.
Ensure tax compliance and liaise with external advisors.
Support external audits and maintain internal controls.
Lead accounting staff and mentor the team; develop policies and procedures.
Monitor cash flow and support financial reporting packages.
Assist with automation of workflows using tools like Vena, Power BI, Alteryx, and Excel macros.
