OSC in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Senior Accountant to review and analyze routine and complex accounting transactions, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and timely, accurate financial reporting. The role maintains the general ledger and reconciles subsidiary accounts per policy.

The position requires strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in general financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, financial consolidation, and audit procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF/IFS, and data modeling).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn and navigate ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate P&L and Balance Sheet accounting in US GAAP.
• Perform month-end close procedures and prepare general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and record journal entries.
• Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.
• Assist in creating and updating accounting process documentation.
• Ensure data accuracy to support business decisions.
• Lead or support cross‑functional projects, including systems upgrades.
• Serve as technical accounting resource for complex transactions.
• Partner with operations and Finance to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement in accounting processes by adopting best-practices from other locations.
