Job summary

Ledgent-Finance- is seeking a Senior Accountant in Hampstead, MD for a full-time, on-site role. The candidate will manage day-to-day and month-end accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting growth.

Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP/Excel proficiency are essential. Responsibilities include leading close processes, analyzing financial data, coordinating budgets, and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP understanding and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze financial data and prepare monthly reporting packages.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and investigate accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Support external audits and year-end tax preparation.
• Monitor and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with project accounting and cost tracking as needed.
• Contribute to process improvements and increased efficiencies within the accounting department.
