Job summary

Shoppa’s Material Handling in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain cost accounting, support annual audits, and assist with financial reporting. You will work closely with the Controller and Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy and compliance.

This role requires a BS in accounting or finance, 5+ years in accounting (preferably in manufacturing/industrial sectors), proficiency with SAP or Navision and Excel, strong communication, and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• BS in accounting, finance or related field
• 5+ years in general or tax accounting, preferably in manufacturing/industrial sectors
• Experience with SAP, Navision and MS Office
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statements, reports and records; answer department heads' questions about financial data
• Manage general ledger, fixed assets, bank accounts, and reconciliations
• Support audits and internal controls; assist with multistate sales tax and property tax filings
• Prepare data backups and conduct profitability analyses as needed
• Collaborate with accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliance
