Job summary

Rhino + Jetty is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the monthly close, reporting, and accounting operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Accounting, you'll manage GL areas, strengthen controls, and mentor junior staff in a fast-growing fintech/insurtech company handling insurance products, premiums, and claims.

You'll work across periods, coordinate with insurance operations and actuarial teams, participate in system implementations, and support audits, tax filings, and intercompany

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in fintech or insurtech.
• CPA or active CPA candidate preferred.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and month-end close experience.
• Experience with high-volume transactional data and startups.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or Sage Intacct; advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own close activities including entries, accruals, reconciliations.
• Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements.
• Handle revenue recognition (ASC 606) and insurance-related balances.
• Lead system implementations and standardize core accounting processes.
• Support audits and tax filings.
• Reconcile data between systems and ledger.
• Drive process improvements and documentation of policies and controls.
• Assist cash management and intercompany accounting.
• Mentor staff accountants and serve as a go-to resource.
• Collaborate with FP&A, RevOps, and business teams on analysis.
