Job summary

Rhino + Jetty is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to drive data strategy and lead a small team. You will own the data stack, guide infrastructure choices, and partner with risk to deliver actuarial reports. This role blends hands-on data work (60%) with leadership (40%) to scale our self-service analytics culture.

You'll collaborate with CTO and cross-functional teams to align the data roadmap with business objectives, enabling reliable, transparent reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building and owning production data pipelines.
• Experience leading a small data team as a player-coach in a fast-paced environment.
• Background in fintech or insurtech with financial product reporting knowledge.
• Proven ability to collaborate across function to meet data needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a nimble data team of three and set technical standards.
• Own end-to-end data pipeline from warehouse to dashboards and reports.
• Drive data infrastructure decisions and vendor selections with the CTO.
• Partner with Risk to build actuarial and bordereau reports.
• Consolidate siloed analysis into unified reporting standards.
• Enable self-service analytics while maintaining governance and quality.
• Collaborate with CTO and teams to align data roadmap with business goals.
