Job summary

Oliver James Group is working with a growing financial services firm in Charlotte, NC seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team and help transform how Finance operates, reports and uses technology.

This role blends core accounting and reporting with exposure to finance systems, data initiatives and cross‑functional projects that drive process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of accounting / finance experience.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with ERP / finance systems.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
• Genuine interest in technology, automation, data or process improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Financial services / insurance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close & reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Help identify and eliminate manual / inefficient Finance processes.
• Support finance systems and ERP enhancements.
• Improve reporting, data quality and financial processes.
• Assist with automation and technology initiatives.

We're working with a growing financial services business looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team and help improve how Finance operates, reports and uses technology.

This is a slightly different Senior Accountant opportunity - alongside core accounting and reporting, you'll get exposure to finance systems, automation, data, process improvement and cross-functional projects.
