Senior Corporate Accountant
The Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing, multi-location organization seeking a talented Senior Corporate Accountant to join its expanding Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who wants more than simply closing the books. The Senior Corporate Accountant will work closely with Finance leadership and play an important role in financial close, reporting, reconciliations, analysis, internal controls, and process improvement as the organization continues to scale.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious, highly accountable, and interested in understanding the business behind the numbers. This role offers significant opportunity for increased ownership, visibility, and professional growth within an evolving finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with general ledger accounting and timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial activity and investigate unusual transactions, discrepancies, and variances.
- Research accounting issues and assist in developing appropriate resolutions.
- Support the development and maintenance of strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and standardize accounting processes.
- Partner with Finance leadership on accounting projects, reporting initiatives, and business priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather information, resolve issues, and improve financial processes.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support special projects and evolving business needs as the organization continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
