Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Sr Accountant to manage timely, accurate books and records for reporting to internal and external stakeholders. You will maintain strong controls, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and payment requests while collaborating with partners across the finance organization.

You will engage in complex analyses, support plans and forecasts, and help ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements. A CPA/CMA or equivalent qualification is valued.

Qualifications

• Two years of finance, accounting, financial planning, or related experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with business partners.
• Experience with accounting principles and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Compile, review, and analyze financial data for variance analysis, reporting, and accuracy.
• Support development of complex financial analyses for key performance metrics (production, profitability, expense management, staffing).
• Prepare analyses to support budgets and forecasts.
• Review internal management-based financial reporting for accuracy and compliance with policies.
• Prepare external financial statements including GAAP, SEC, and STAT where applicable.
• Perform financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Prepare and review documentation for audits; provide coaching and mentoring.
