Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. You will ensure accurate books and records for internal and external reporting, perform journal entries, reconciliations, and payment requests for fixed income assets.

Ideal candidates have a finance/accounting background, strong communication, and the ability to analyze data for management insights. The role emphasizes SOX controls, collaboration with partners, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Two years of finance, accounting, financial planning, or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or professional designation in accounting/finance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with business partners.

Responsibilities

• Compile, review, and analyze financial data for variance analysis and accuracy.
• Support development of complex financial analyses for KPIs (production, profitability, expenses).
• Prepare analyses to support budgets and forecasts.
• Review components for internal management-based financial reporting with GAAP/SEC considerations.
• Prepare external financial statements and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Assist with audits and maintain documentation.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
