Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience with close ownership and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close under US GAAP.
• Maintain QuickBooks records and coordinate tax prep, audits, and external advisor requests.
• Support budgets, forecasts, cash runway analysis, and financial reporting for leadership and board.

About the role

Own accounting and financial operations while supporting fundraising, equity administration, and IPO readiness. Partner with leadership and external advisors to deliver reliable financial reporting and strengthen controls in a growing startup.

What you will do

• Manage daily accounting, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close; prepare accurate financial statements under US GAAP.


• Maintain QuickBooks records and coordinate tax preparation, audit schedules, and requests from external advisors.


• Support budgets, forecasts, cash runway analysis, and financial reporting for leadership, investors, and the board.


• Prepare fundraising and due diligence materials; support investor meetings and travel with the CEO as needed.


• Maintain equity records and award documentation; coordinate stock-based compensation accounting and valuations with specialists.


• Improve financial controls and IPO readiness documentation while supporting payroll, onboarding, and startup operational needs.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience, with independent ownership of close, reconciliations, and financial statements.


• Strong US GAAP knowledge, QuickBooks proficiency, and advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting.


• Hands-on equity administration or accounting experience, including cap tables, options, stock compensation, or valuations.


• Direct involvement in at least one fundraising or financing process, including diligence materials or investor reporting.


• Experience in an IPO preparation or public-company reporting workstream; leading an IPO is not required.


• Strong judgment, confidentiality, organization, and communication skills; comfortable owning multiple responsibilities in a startup.


• CPA, audit experience, startup or medical device experience, and familiarity with Carta, Pulley, or ADP are preferred.
