Job summary

Unknown is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the US and international close for a fast-growing AI/robotics startup. The role reports to the Controller and covers AP, AR, payroll and the general ledger, driving month-end closes and audit readiness.

You’ll lead international close activities, ensure US GAAP compliance (ASC 606), and collaborate on financial reporting and system migrations across QuickBooks Online and Rootstock ERP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2+ years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience (5-8 years preferred), owning the close rather than supporting it.
• Experience at a high-growth, venture-backed startup (AI, robotics, deep tech or Series C+ SaaS/hardware).
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations)
• A proactive problem-solver who is comfortable with ambiguity and pays close attention to detail
• Able to commute on-site full-time in the South Bay Area (no relocation support)
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (US Citizen or Green Card holder)

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting for US and international entities: AP, AR, payroll and the general ledger
• Lead the month-end close for international entities, including reconciliations, accruals and financial statements under US GAAP
• Keep documentation audit-ready and support audit preparation
• Work with the Controller to deliver accurate, timely financial reports
• Lead system migrations and process improvements across QuickBooks, Rillet and Rootstock ERP

Our client is a high-growth AI and robotics company building general-purpose robotic intelligence: one AI \"brain\" that runs on many kinds of hardware, from humanoids and quadrupeds to warehouse automation. The Role

You'll be the main accountant for both US and international operations, reporting to the Controller. You'll own full-cycle accounting from end to end, lead month-end closes and help build the finance stack as the company scales. The team values proven ability and a collaborative attitude over pedigree. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a fast-moving startup.
