Job summary

City of Frisco seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure financial integrity and compliance with evolving accounting standards. You will analyze data, automate processes, and optimize ERP systems to support budgeting and strategic planning across departments.

The role requires strong analytical and consulting skills, with collaboration across teams to deliver accurate financial reporting and continuous improvements in controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA preferred, plus 3–5 years accounting experience.
• Experience with process automation and ERP upgrades is a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR; Texas driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform GAAP- and GASB-based financial analysis, general ledger reconciliations, and compliance reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, financial reports, and audit documentation with accuracy.
• Support external audits, budget development, and preparation of the ACFR.
• Improve internal controls and balance accounts; leverage automation and BI tools to enhance reporting.
• Lead cross-functional projects to modernize financial processes and ERP integrations.
